Junior Varsity Baseball Team Captain James Arnott struck out 13 batters with an impressive pitching performance, but the Hurricanes’ lineup couldn’t muster any offense in a tough 6-0 defeat at Jamestown on May 4. On Saturday, May 5, the Block Island School Varsity Baseball team slugged their way to a 15-5 road win against the Blackstone Valley Prep Pride. David Barillas started on the bump for the Hurricanes. Barillas consistently pounded the strike zone while shutting out the Pride for two-and-a-third innings before giving way to teammate Andrew McGarry.
