Merideth McGregor will be showing her jewelry designs at the Spring Street Gallery from July 8 through July 21.April in Paris Designs is the vision of McGregor, who has been inspired by beauty, color, and design throughout her life. Her contemporary jewelry designs are based on her personal taste and style, which have been strongly influenced by her unique travel adventures. She spent three years in Africa, where she served for two years in the Peace Corps in Gabon. She then moved to Dakar, Senegal, where she worked in an orphanage for young girls. As a photojournalist, Merideth documented the Nicaraguan Revolution, the changes in Cuba over the course of many years, and as a photographer for the United Nations, she captured everyday life in Vietnam and Morocco. Duringthe 1990s she traveled throughout the southwestern United States documenting female ranchers and cowgirls, which inspired her children’s book – “Cowgirl.” McGregor’s photographic work is in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum (London) as well as many private collections.The year 2015 brought McGregor to San Miguel de Allende for an extended period of time where she took numerous classes in jewelry design.
