Beth Rowe to exhibit at Spring Street Gallery

Beth Rowe, longtime resident of Southwest Point, will return to Block Island to visit old friends and show her paintings and drawings at The Spring Street Gallery. The selected works, created between 2016 and 2022 are part of a series titled “Turbulence.” The opening reception will be on Saturday, September 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.Rowe has been an artist for over 50 years and has shown in New York City galleries and is in private collections.While living on Block Island she had a stand at the Farmers Market for many years where she sold flowers and produce from her garden and presented her botanical drawings for sale. She also worked as a landscape designer for her own company called Hands On Garden Design, and designed many gardens on the island. Among the local projects she designed is Esta’s Park and the house across from the Community Center.From the very beginning of her artist’s career, starting in the 1970s, there is an overarching concern for the environment.
