Block Island Chamber hires Social Media Coordinator

The Block Island Chamber of Commerce has announced that island resident Christine L. Peterson will be its new Social Media Coordinator.
Peterson has a BFA in Creative Writing and a double minor in East Asian Studies and Arts Management from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.
Originally from Danbury, Conn., Peterson became a year-round resident in 2018 and has worked as an assistant dock office manager at Champlin’s Marina, with stints at The Cracked Mug, Club Soda and the Block Island Grocery.
“Christine is an amazing addition to the Chamber staff. She’s creative, cutting-edge and has great ideas about how to further our mission through all the social media tools available today,” said Chamber Executive Director Lars Trodson. “We’re extremely happy to have her.”
“I have been traveling to Block Island with my family every summer for my entire life,” said Peterson, “deeming it, in a school assignment from second grade that my mom recently found, as my ‘favorite place in the entire world!!!’ I am very excited to be working at the Chamber for the benefit of the Block Island business community.”
The Chamber has also hired island resident Austin Crawford to redesign the Chamber’s website.
