Census resumes activities

U.S. Census Bureau Field Supervisor Linda Wright issued the following notice on census activities for Block Island:
Hi Residents,
On Monday, May 18, the U.S. Census Bureau headquarters has given the approval to resume Census activities. Therefore, you will start to see Enumerators making their way around the island. This work will continue for a few weeks, then the second phase will commence.
Enumerators will have signage in their car windows identifying their vehicles
Enumerators also will have a visible ID badge identifying them as an employee of the U.S. Department of Commerce
The Enumerators will not be coming into your homes. Instead their jobs are to update your address in their records and leave a survey for you to complete.  Please do not use someone else’s survey. Each survey has a unique ID assigned to your specific address.
The survey will have instructions on the varying ways to complete your survey and what to do with it once completed. Should you need help completing your survey please reference the survey for guidance. Enumerators cannot complete surveys for you at this time nor handle your completed surveys.
If you have concerns, please feel free
