Construction for the High Street/ Payne Road water main replacement project will start on Monday, March 8, and continue through early May. On March 8th, a crew will be mobilizing, staging for construction, and digging test pits. On Monday, March 15, road work and water main laying will begin.
The Water Department is asking for the community’s patience during construction. Two construction crews will be trenching and laying the water main, one starting on Payne Road and one on High Street (at the school). Only one lane of traffic will be open, so please allow for extra time, especially if you are dropping or picking up students at school, or are going to the Medical Center. Please drive cautiously.
If you are a parent or staff at the school, please look for updates from the school for changes to parking and drop off/pick up procedures.
If you are a water customer, the plan is to have minimal impacts on water service. In April, you may have brief impacts to your water service, especially if you are in the project area. We will keep you informed on impacts to your water service as the project progresses.
