Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common customer questions.

Yes, you can upgrade your listing level at any time (you will only be charged the difference).  So if you had a Basic Listing and wanted to upgrade to a Premium Listing you would be charged the difference between the Premium and Basic prices.

All listings are valid for the calendar year.  If you do not renew your subscription, we reserve the right to turn off or downgrade your listing at any time. 

If you have an Enhanced or Premium listing you can add Smart Coupons.  

Smart Coupons:  Enhanced – one active coupons, Premium – up to 3 active coupons

Use the Coupon Listing Form above to create a coupon.  We ask that you submit the coupon one week in advance to ensure it gets listed prior to the active date.

If you have an Enhanced or Premium listing you can add event listings.  

Event Listings:  Enhanced – up to 3 events, Premium – up to 10 events.

Use the Event Listing Form above to enter the event.  We ask that you submit your event one week in advance to ensure it gets listed.  

We try and get all listing live as fast as possible.  However, please give us a week lead time whenever possible.   

We will notify you when a listing, coupon or event listing is live.

Yes, we have teamed up with the Block Island Chamber of Commerce to help make it easier than ever for business to get listed on the app, keep Chamber members updated, and help island visitors find your business!and other organizations on the Island that provide information to visitors and locals.

The Block Island App was started on July 4, 2018 by Rob Lucier and Will Gasner.   Rob is married to an Islander and has been coming to BI since the early 80’s.  Will grew up on the Island and went to the Block Island school. Will is also a 12th generation Islander.  

Both of us have worked in the technology/web industry for years. Our goal was to create an easy-to-use app to give visitors and Islanders alike access to all information on Block Island.   

We also love feedback so don’t hesitate to contact us. 

The App is optimized to work on all Apple and Android phones. In addition, it will work on any device via a browser, just go to m.theblockislandapp.com. For use on Block Island we recommend using the mobile app for the best experience.

All paid listings are for the calendar year. The app is live 24 X 7 and 365 days a year. So even during the winter your listing is still active. You can update your description if you are off island so people are aware but you stay present on peoples’ phones year round.
