A Block Island house designed by Estes, Twombly, and Titrington, Architects of Newport received an Honor Award from the R.I. Chapter of the American Institute of Architects at their annual awards ceremony.
The house is small (1,600 square feet) and efficient with open living space on the first floor and three bedrooms on the second. Large windows capture views to the north and sun to the south.
The jury praised the simple, straightforward design at a time when houses are becoming over-sized and overly complicated.
