Hurricanes win 47 to 28 at home

The Hurricanes Boys Varsity Basketball Team welcomed Barrington Christian Academy to the island Monday for a 12:30 tilt in front of a large crowd for only the second time in years. The boisterous fans provided a great home-court advantage as the team came out aggressively and quickly established itself as the better team, beating the away team by over 20 points.Led by Justin Cullen’s 15 points, the ‘Canes proved difficult to defend as every player on the team scored. With steadily improving passing and running a motion offense under Coach Richie Conant’s design, the team increasingly found the open teammates for uncontested shots. That, combined with stifling defense, led to many Barrington turnovers that resulted in easy buckets.
Next up, Rocky Hill Prep in an off-island contest this Saturday. The team will then travel to Rhode Island College to take in the National Prep School Tournament where over 20 NBA scouts will be in attendance in a tournament organized and run by NBA scout and islander Dave Moran.
