Using several different mediums– double-exposed images, acrylic-on-canvas, inverted and projected video – psych_i_/dyllic is the debutwork by Joshua Maldonado.Based on the vast interconnected world of the Wood Wide Web, this collection represents the transient collaborative efforts of mycelium(strands of fungi) and root systems deep underground. These colorful and erratic networks inform the work on display, in particular the title piece and its companion film: an artificial photosynthesis, highlighting processes already taking place.There will be an opening reception at the Spring Street Gallery on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
