The Junior Varsity baseball team was treated to a pizza party at the Poor People’s Pub on May 29, courtesy of Michael Schroeder, owner and publisher of The Block Island Times. The party was to commemorate the team’s 2018 baseball season.
During the celebration, Capt. James Arnott received the Cy Young Award for his pitching prowess, highlighted by striking out 58 batters in 29 innings. Shortstop/pitcher Sam Stockman received the Most Valuable Player Award for his all-around play, including going 6-for-15 with four steals and four runs scored on the season.
