The historic Spring Street Gallery is pleased to present “Silhouettes for Thought,” a featured artist exhibition by Katherine Clarke Langlands, comprised of vibrantly painted ‘drift’ sculptures and paintings on canvas.Langlands is a multidisciplinary artist whose work includes painting, sculpture, installation and assemblage. She has been a part-time Block Islander for the past seven years and always, a Vermonter. Katherinegrew up immersed in the snow/skate culture of Darkside Snowboards and that sensibility often informs her gritty, relevant conceptual ideologies, artistic progression and her vibrant dynamic paintings and sculptures. She is currently a studio resident at the Vermont Studio Center, represented by Soapbox Arts in Burlington, Vermont and an MFA student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.“Silhouettes for Thought” is on view from August 27 to September 8, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Explore Katherine’s work @xo_KCL and contact the gallery for inquiries at [email protected] will be an opening reception on Saturday August 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. that will include a performance movement and sound piece happening simultaneously in the gallery.
