Kern announces withdrawal from fulltime town manager consideration

In an email sent to town employees on Tuesday, May 26, Interim Town Manager Jim Kern announced that he would be withdrawing his name from the pool of applicants seeking to be considered for the permanent position.
Kern was hired in late December 2019 to succeed former Town Manager Ed Roberge, who resigned after nearly two years on the job.
Kern, in his email, stated, “It was my original intention to fill the interim position and evaluate the permanent one. These decisions always have many aspects to them — professional, personal, financial, and shall we say, situational. I have enjoyed my time in the position and have enjoyed working with you. I have told the Council that I am happy to serve for the period required to complete the permanent placement. And I wish all of you the best personally and professionally in the future.”
