New phone system at Medical Center

The following was submitted by the Medical Center:
The Block Island Medical Center has a new phone system.
In an effort to provide patients with better and more efficient service, the Medical Center staff has implemented a phone tree that will put callers directly into contact with the person they are trying to reach. 
By dialling 466-2974, callers will hear a recording of a menu of options, prompting the most appropriate connection:
“Thank you for calling the Block Island Medical Center. If this is a medical emergency, please hang up and dial 911. In order for us to deliver the best service to you, please listen and choose from the following options:
If you know your party’s extension you may dial it at any time.
If you’d like to make or change an appointment with one of our providers, please press three.
If you are calling regarding a prescription, please press four.
To reach our Physical Therapy Department or the Wellness and Risk Reduction Program, please press five for Alison Warfel.
To reach our Billing Coordinator, or for questions regarding insurance, please press six for Pattie Murphy.
To reach our Finance Director, Terri Chmiel, please press seven.
To reach the office of the Medical Director, please press eight.
For all other questions, including requests for medical records, referrals, or pre-authorizations please press nine. 
Our regular operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
On Saturdays and Sundays we are open for urgent care only from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.”
