Planning processes Overlook application

The Overlook property continues to slowly progress through the paperwork calisthenics involved in subdividing its lot. Brian Laplante, attorney for Overlook owner Steven Filippi, was back in front of the Planning Board on Wednesday, October 13, for the public hearing. There were no public comments, but that doesn’t mean the hearing went smoothly. The Overlook has already been before the Planning Board. The board required the property to apply to the Zoning Board to uphold the two SpecialUse Permits and a Variance that had been granted previously. Since the property is being divided, all parties felt it prudent to have zoning verify that it would uphold the SUPs and variance. One SUP was to grant the Overlook permission to have parking spaces on the newly created Lot B, and one SUP was for the continued use of the basement “inn” that houses employees. The variance was for nonconformity on the building setback.LaPlante confirmed to the Planning Board on Wednesday that both the SUPs, and the variance, were approved by zoning. He also stated that the surveyor had made some adjustments, as requested by Town Planner Allison Ring, to provide clarification of the lot coverage and building coverage.
