The pupils of Mrs. Hart’s kindergarten class, for the past 13 years, have rolled pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, only to turn those little stacks of coins into a powerful fundraising tool.
Since 2006, Hart’s Block Island School students have raised more than $22,000 for the Pennies for Patients program, which raises funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
