Islanders and visitors to Block Island will see donation boxes asking for quarters to benefit the Block Island Medical Center and the Block Island Rescue Squad. Building on last year’s Quarters Against Corona fundraiser, which raised almost $7,000 for these two vital organizations, this year’s campaign is called Quarters to the Rescue.Karen Duale, who is spearheading the effort, stated: “The generosity of people donating their loose change and bills is a win-win for everyone as proved by the success of last year’s efforts. Everybody can give. Both the rescue squad and the medical center need and deserve our help and support. If we all pitch in, we all benefit.”
