How do you walk three miles within a very small space? Walking class at the Community Center with the Senior Advisory Group. Like many things, it’s a resumption of a pre-Covid activity, and with the onset of cold weather and sometimes icy ground, a good way to get some exercise and have fun at the same time.You might not think you need to take a class to learn how to walk, but as SAC member Jennifer Phillips said at their meeting on Nov. 29, “It’s not just walking.”The class is led by online instructor Leslie Sansone who has videos on YouTube of walks of different durations. It’s a little bit marching in place, a little bit doing the slide, and a lot of fun for those who have experienced it. The classis now meeting Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.It’s just one of the many activities happening at the Community Center organized by the Senior Advisory Committee and on Tuesday they were busy planning even more.They were joined by Dawn Beamer, the new assistant recreation director, who was there to introduce herself and to see what the seniors were up to, as well as what
