As cold weather and fall leaves swoop into Block Island, so do lots of exciting Halloween events. Run by senior co-presidents, Whitney McGinnes, and Chloe Weber, the Student Council at the Block Island School is hosting two events. On October 30, starting at 3 p.m., and lasting until 5 p.m., the council is hosting a Halloween costume party for grades K through four at the Ball O’Brien Park pavilion. Masks and parental supervision are required. The party will consist of different treats and games, including pumpkin painting, a costume fashion show, chalk drawing, tic-tac-toe, and more.On October 30, as night falls, at 6:30 p.m., the Student Council will also be hosting a haunted trail walk. Also hosted at the Ball-O’Brien park, the apocalypse-themed,15-minute walk will start at the restrooms and end at the basketball courts. Masks are required along with reservations no later than October 28, by emailing [email protected]. Groups of two to 10 are allowed to go at a time and each group will be given a start time. After the trail, there will be cider and hot chocolate for sale, as well as left over bake sale goodies from the party. The council recommends grades
