Update from Dr. Warcup

Dr. Warcup notes that the COVID-19 positivity rate in Rhode Island and surrounding states remains between 7 to 8 percent and it is important to be vigilant about wearing a mask, socially distancing and washing hands frequently.
On the island, taking those precautions is keeping our positivity rate low, with just two new cases last week.
The new, more transmissible but equally severe variant of COVID has been detected in Connecticut. Try to limit travel as much as possible and take precautions if you must travel.
Testing is still available every Tuesday and Thursday at the Fire Barn.
RIDOH has assured Dr. Warcup that we will receive the second dose of Moderna vaccine for the original 70 participants on time, and he hopes to know by the end of the week when we might receive an additional allotment for those over 75 and essential workers.
