Dr. Thomas Warcup, Tracy Fredericks, and William McCombe will be honored as this year’s Island Treasures. The awards will be presented at the annual meeting of the Block Island Residents Association held on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. at St. Andrew Parish Center.
In making the awards, BIRA recognizes the significant contribution that these three people and the organizations they represent – the Block Island Medical Center, the Block Island Rescue Squad and the Town Emergency Management Task Group – made to keeping Block Island safe during the Covid public health crisis.
President Joe Loya commented: “I speak not only for the members of the Block Island Residents Association but also for the Block Island community in expressing our appreciation to Dr. Warcup, Tracy Fredericks and William McCombe. Our community is indeed fortunate to have these dedicated people who have worked tirelessly to keep Block Island safe. They are an inspiration to all of us.”
