This year the annual Winter Market goes outdoors! Hosted by the Island Free Library, the Winter Market will be held Saturday, Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here you will find many of your favorite artists and craftspeople from the Block Island Farmers Market and Block Island Arts and Crafts Guild, plus some brand new faces.Vendors will fill up the lawn with offerings. At the time of this writing, we know there will lots of possibilities to cross off the names on your holiday shopping lists with a home-made gift.In the food and what-to-serve-it-on department there should be scones baked by Kate Ryan, Jahmu drink mixes from Walter Filkins, finishing salts from Block Island Salt Works, and cutting boards crafted by Phil Walsh.
In the art and photography department, Leslie Hartnett (art), Alexander Baba-Vulic (photography), Tracy Lee Michaelson (photography), and Rosemary Connelli (wood block prints) have signed up to participate. So far.Some of these disciplines spill over into others, as artists like Connelli is apt to have tote bags and other items featuring her wildlife designs.
