A message from the Town of New Shoreham

COVID-19 VIRUS NOTICE TO RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO
BLOCK ISLAND:
The Town of New Shoreham declared a State of Emergency effective
from March 18, 2020 through May 8, 2020.
Medical capacity on the Island is extremely limited. 
A SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER for everyone on the Island is in effect through MAY 8, 2020.
Anyone arriving to Block Island must immediately self-quarantine for 14 days other than Essential Activity personnel as defined in the ordinance. 
The term “Self-Quarantine” means that you must proceed from the ferry or airport directly to your residence without making any stops, remain at your residence except for medical care or emergencies, have food and other necessities delivered, and monitor yourself for symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath. 
All residents must shelter in place and follow CDC and RI Department of Health guidelines.
Only workers who are engaged in essential activities, as defined in the ordinance, may commute to Block Island, and are prohibited from going to/from any location other than their place of work.
