The work of artist Betsy Barker will be on display at the Spring Street Gallery from August 20 to September 1.While Betsy is a New Mexican-based ceramicist, her works have been displayed in galleries across the country. Back by popular demand, this is her fourth show at the Spring Street Gallery. With a background in design and fine arts, it is evident that each of her pieces is thoughtfully designed. Her work ranges from functional tableware to decorative sculptural work. Betsy reflects, “my artistic process is one that is reciprocal – while I transform the material and leave my imprint in the clay, the clay is constantly altering my state of mind and ways of thinking. I love that creating ceramics is a process requiring a great amount of physicality and mindfulness.”Betsy’s Spring Street Gallery collection will include hand-built orbs that light up, trays etched with nature-inspired drawings, previously sold-out mugs painted with pops of color, charmingly unique niches, and more. Please join us for ceramics and refreshments on Saturday, August 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
