Cable reburial project to commence at Fred Benson Beach

The following message was provided by Facilities Manger Sam Bird on Tuesday, Sept. 15:
With the end of the summer season, National Grid and Orsted will be commencing their Cable Reburial Project at the Fred Benson Beach. This work will be starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 16, with the delivery of several pieces of equipment to the north parking lot at Fred Benson Beach. In the following days and weeks more equipment will arrive and the drilling operation will commence – at which point all of the north parking lot will be occupied and all but the very southern end of the south lot will be occupied. The path to the beach at the south end of the south lot will remain accessible. Please do not park in the north lot or the south lot (except the very south end) beginning this afternoon.
We know this will be an inconvenience to many who are used to accessing the Fred Benson Beach all winter, however, it is important that this work be completed. Thank you for your  understanding.
Sam Bird
