A workshop for the hard of hearing, “Family and Friends: Life Skills for the Hard of Hearing,” will be held at the Island Free Library at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. Dr. Rachel-Ann Smith from the University of Rhode Island will be hosting the workshop.
“I worked with Dr. Smith and one of her audiology students in a support group last spring. I learned some great things about how to advocate for myself as a person with profound hearing loss living in a hearing world,” said Sue Brown Black, who organized the event.
