International student center opens its doors

Harbor Church has begun its ministry to summer student workers once more. After a year off due to the pandemic, services have resumed to make our summer workers feel welcome on our island. Free dinners are being served weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The first chicken dinner was enjoyed by 20 international workers from places like Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. The Recreation Center on the lower level of the church is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 10 p.m. Student workers are invited to come and relax in an alcohol-free environment where they can socialize in a large living room area, engage in recreational activities including large-screen TV, pool table, Ping Pong, Foosball, video and board games. There is also a small kitchen area available, where workers can cook dinner for themselves and others. All summer workers are welcome. American student workers are encouraged to come for cultural exchange with people from around the world.Donations to Harbor Church in support of this ministry will be received with gratitude, and anyone that would like to provide a Tuesday night meal can contact Pastor Peter Preiser or Alton Bentley. For more information, contact the church office or
