Library hosts local artists and crafters for holidays

Walking into the library in the early evening, vendors were beginning to set up their tables for the weekly Tuesday night markets at the Island Free Library. The library began its Tuesday markets on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and they will continue each Tuesday through Dec. 17.
There was a full menu of Block Island products on display. Pam Glen was offering up her jellies, candies, pickles and pickled beets. Erica Tonner came with her knitted hats, scarves, and baby sweaters. Hope Roosa featured wood crafts from found materials. Erin and Emily Helterline were showcasing their ornaments made from beach glass and other found materials.
Representing Littlefield Bee Farm, Hope Howley Brigham had laid out on her table various honeys, including Cinnamon Honey, Honey Mustard, and Wildflower Honey. Beeswax candles, diverse in colors and style, offered an insight into the possibilities and wonder of honey making.
