Remembering those lost on 911

Flags are flying at half staff on Block Island in memory of the victims lost during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The attacks, which killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 and caused at least $10 billion in damage, occurred in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
There are several monuments on the island that pay tribute to those lost during the tragedy.
