The Spring Street Gallery is gearing up and getting excited for its very first fundraiser — after almost 40 years of its existence as the island’s original art co-op. The exhibition entitled “Small Art, Big Heart” will be up onenight only, Thursday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The show comprises approximately two hundred 5” x 7” pieces of “small art” that were created specifically for this event and generously donated by nearly 100 island or local artists.
Tickets for the event, priced at $100, will guarantee you two works of original art and an opportunity to support the arts on Block Island.
The event concept has never been done on Block Island before. Here’s how it will work:
• Each ticket comes with two “sold” stickers.
• On the night of the event, you will place your “sold” stickers under the two pieces of art to secure for yourself.
• Ticket holders will be allowed in on a firstcome-first-served basis. But be aware, we can only allow a certain amount of folks in the gallery at once. So be patient with the process we will have in place to allow everyone through and maintain physical distancing.
