Dr. Warcup explains that the Medical Center received 70 doses of Moderna vaccine last week designated for Fire, Rescue and Medical personnel. Due to some EMS personnel being unable to participate on short notice, 10 doses were available for the most vulnerable in our community. The 10 individuals were chosen based on age and birthdate, and we are happy to report vaccinating 10 of our eldest community members…all in their 90’s!
The Medical Center has heard from many community members who are concerned about not being included in the first round of vaccinations. Dr. Warcup is advocating every day for the Medical Center to receive additional doses and while he has been assured that the second dose for the original 70 will be made available, at this time, we do not know when or how many doses we will receive for additional elderly, high risk individuals and essential workers.
