The following update was provided by the Block Island Medical Center on Thursday, July 9:
COVID-19 Update from the Medical CenterJuly 9, 2020
Following the announcement on Monday of a COVID-19 positive individual working at a local establishment, there have been no additional positive COVID-19 cases associated with that individual or establishment. Co-workers of the individual have been instructed to quarantine for 14 days.
Please be reminded that if you feel sick, have mild symptoms or are concerned that you may have been exposed to a positive individual, you should quarantine at home and monitor your health. If your symptoms worsen, you have a persistent fever of 101o, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or other respiratory symptoms, please call the Medical Center for an appointment. If you are concerned that you may have been exposed and do not have symptoms you should still quarantine and monitor your health. Symptoms can appear between 2 and 14 days after exposure.
