The Block Island Grocery shared with the Times the following updates:
At the request of the Town Council, we have been asked to provide a time for our customers over the age of 60 to shop when the store is less crowded. Starting Wednesday, March 18, we will open our doors from 8-9 a.m. for any customer over the age of 60, to minimize any exposure to illnesses. The doors will be locked but there will be someone to let you in so that you can shop while the store is less crowded.
At the request of Town Council, we have been asked to limit the number of people waiting in line at the deli. To that end, we are asking our customers to call in their lunch and/or dinner orders, at least an hour in advance. Our phone number is (401) 466-2949 ext. 29.
