Verizon has informed The Block Island Times that its service interruption from July 27-30 was due to a vendor “fiber connection issue and some hardware.” The company said it is working on making some improvements to its island network.
David Weissmann, a Public Relations Manager for the Verizon Consumer Group, said, “This week’s network interruption was a result of an issue with our fiber connection and some hardware.” He added: “I should have an additional update early next week on some stuff we are doing to make improvements.”
