Whether you’re just off the boat or simply want to take a break from strolling, there’s plenty of food available when you visit Block Island for the Annual Holiday Shopping Stroll.It’s not easy to just open up a restaurant for three days a month or so after having closed for the season, but these stalwarts of island dining are open year-round for the most part, so go on in, warm up, and enjoy their hospitality.The island has lost a few breakfast joints this year, including Bethany’s Airport Diner and The Cracked Mug, but there is certainly the opportunity to linger over a cup of coffee, or some boba tea, at Odd Fellows Café just opposite the ferry docks on Water Street. While seating outside is weather-dependent, and inside seating might look limited, there is plenty more up the broad stairway to the second floor.Normally open for both breakfast and lunch, the café will have extended hours for the Stroll, until 3 p.m. on Friday, and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.Odd Fellows manager and baker extraordinaire Kate Musso gets to work every day at 4:30 a.m. in order to prepare for the day ahead.
