Lars Trodson, author of “The Christmas Traveler” and “The Block Island Mystery Writers’ Retreat,” will appear at Island Free Library on Friday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. to read and answer questions about his latest novella, “Before Christmas.”

Lars was born in Providence and grew up in Rumford, Rhode Island. He is a graduate of Providence Country Day School and Muhlenberg College.
