The following announcements regarding Block Island businesses and services were made this morning, Sunday, March 15:
Andy Transue, of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation announced that Bethany’s Airport Diner will be closed until further notice.
The Senior Advisory Committee (SAC) also said the following about the temporary cancellation of the Senior Ride Service (SRS):
“We very much regret the interruption to the SRS, for we know how much island seniors have come to rely on it.
We are hopeful that the SRS will be up and running again soon.
We realize that as for others there is concern among our seniors about COVID19, but we know, too. what a resilient and common sense community we live in.We know we will always find ways to help each other.
For accurate & reliable information on the virus, we recommend following the guidelines posted by Block Island Health Services (BIHS, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the RI Department of Health, and The National Institute of Health (NIH).
