For the second time, Wohlberg was selected by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) to exhibit at T.F Green Airport from now through Sept. 4, 2018. Seven pieces are displayed on the lower level of the airport, adjacent to the baggage claim area. In April and May, his work was included in the 50th Anniversary Show at Viridian Gallery in New York City.
Wohlberg’s abstract paintings utilize gestural strokes and viscose surfaces juxtaposed with washes of subdued colors creating paintings that embody his intuitive process. This process blends Wohlberg’s exploration of paint and its responses to various surfaces and his changing responses to his environment. His aim is to engage the viewer in a conversation with the work that is simultaneously intuitive and reflective. For Wohlberg, painting is a means of expression without limits. Additional work can be viewed at www.benwohlberg.com.
Wohlberg’s paintings can be found in corporate and private collections throughout Europe, the Bahamas, and the United States.
