Rules of use on the Greenway trails

The following statement was issued by the Block Island Conservancy, The Land Trust, and The Nature Conservancy about guidelines for using our Greenway Trail system on the island:With the arrival of Spring, and travel and activities limited as we practice social distancing for health and safety, our island Greenway trails are a wonderful way to take in some fresh air, get some exercise, and experience the island’s wonderful natural resources.
The Greenway traverses all areas of the island, connecting many of our conserved lands.
Unfortunately, this winter especially, the conservation organizations have seen an increase in misuse and trespass on the Greenway, resulting in damage to trails and hazards for walkers.
Horses, bicycles, and motorized vehicles, including dirt bikes, are prohibited on the Greenway, which is reserved for walkers only. We are appealing to our entire community to please respect our trails, and enjoy them responsibly.
